The project interprets the places to which it belongs and “dialogues” with the overall urban retraining plan foreseen by P.R.U. approved by the Municipal Administration of Naples. The idea assigns the site a collective place value for a wider urban part, draws a “park with public and private equipment”, an area where geography and orography dictate the conditions of a permeability of the area , knock down the idea of enclosures and constraints. The project identifies the place of the square-park, agora to which the whole neighborhood belongs, in a “soft” central area on the sides, connected to the public road system to its outline that invokes a unit on which the school equipment kindergarten, primary care services and residences. An orographic settlement system that makes constraints a resource for networking, but above all a place to cross to connect parts that are designed to be together. A place that houses an environment of trees and meadows, cycle-pedestrian areas and outdoor sports areas along the level curve paths in the area.
Project of the San Carlo Theater in Naples
A work of international valence, art, technique and functionality, element of identity of Naples: the San Carlo Theater is the fulcrum of social and concrete aggregation of the historical testimony of the city. Addressing this artifact identifies a meeting point between past and future; The project, in fact, defines new development potential in respect of the extraordinary story of the theater and the idea that Antonio Niccolini had had in the theater. The intervention strategy put in place aims at the architectural and plant renovation of the work to increase theatrical production, respecting the historical values of which the Theater itself is witness. The restoration and treatment of the surfaces, the restoration of the ceiling veil, the hall, the historic foyer and the entrance from via S. Carlo – the innovative ones – new foyer, orchestral and choir room, dance department, tailoring department, scenery room, and coro-synergy between the Teatro San Carlo, Cavalcanti Palace and two former Cirio buildings (one for the dance school and the choir of white voices, the other for the carpentry and the warehouses for the fittings and costumes) make the building complex a “place of entertainment” but also “work on the show”. Emblematic artifact with the face of tradition and the soul of the future: the San Carlo Theater
